The Auction of Love was a huge success! And a rockin’ good time!
Over $10,000 was raised for Gifts of Love. There were 42 chairs to be auctioned! WFSB’s Scot Haney was the auctioneer and had a great time amusing the crowd. Scot had the crowd giggling from the beginning to the end. He did an excellent job and we appreciate his participation.

Rocky, the New Britain Rock Cats mascot came and signed autographs
during the public preview early in the afternoon.
Every one of the 42 rocking chairs was a work of art. The rocking chairs were elegant, whimsical, unusual, cute, stately, flamboyant, colorful, frail, dainty, rugged, thought-provoking, and most any other word you can think of. Try choosing which chair you would like to bid on! |

| MotoPhoto donated photos of the chairs that were taken in their studio.
Pettibone Tavern of Simsbury provided the mouth-watering array of marinated beef tips,
chicken skewers, shrimp, and cheese platter.
An anonymous Gifts of Love supporter donated the wine.
The Village Wine Company in Old Avon Village supplemented with 2 cases of their fine wines. |

We had some surprise bonus items to auction – Jack and Lisa Edwards donated 2 tickets to the Boston Bruins. These tickets are for the Club section of the TDBanknorth Garden in Boston! Jack Edwards is the road play-by-play announcer for the Boston Bruins. Sarah Stevenson, of the Boston Red Sox Community Relations Department, donated a baseball signed by Jason Varitek, captain of the Boston Red Sox.
